Sandy Profile PhotoI find that life is sweeter and infinitely more satisfying when you’re inspired. So I’ve spent most of my life obsessively seeking inspiration. I’ve dabbled in so many forms of creativity. I’ve spilled stories upon a page and spread color on canvas. I’ve stitched turtles and tales, and strung bracelets with wire. I’ve plucked four chords from an uke and tried a few tunes with a sax. But mostly, I’ve merely chased glimmers of inspiration before they winked out and left me feeling restless and stagnant once again.

Through it all, I’ve learned that inspiration is not something you can simply find, tackle, and cross off your to-do list–and oh, how I love my lists! No, inspiration only comes when you are open and ready for it. It’s about living an inspired life no matter what your occupation is. Inspiration lies in details, in worn and weary routines, in snapshots of silliness and surprising genius. It’s everywhere, if you just learn to see, hear, taste, touch, and smell it! Some days, inspiration seeps into my senses, oozing brilliance and good will from my pores. And other days, I am blind and deaf to it, my existence meek and meaningless. I’ve resigned myself to the fact that I will probably spend the rest of my life wrestling with, romancing, and redefining inspiration. So SandyInspired is a sneak peek into my turbulent relationship with inspiration and my journey towards more inspired living.
